    Hello,

    Please tell me why do you save a meta field for the post views. Is it ok to just use that field in order to display stats, or the function that is indicated as shortcode must be used ?

    What’s the use of the meta field ?

    The data is saved locally on your site inside meta fields to avoid doing too many queries to the WordPress.com REST API at once; this could get you blacklisted.

    Since the data is stored locally, it means you’re free to build your own function to display the data from that meta field instead of using the shortcode. That’s up to you!
