    Hello everyone.
    After updating Yoast to newsest version I have a problem with meta robots tags on homepage.
    Meta code chages automatically after updating yoast to:
    <meta name=’robots’ content=’noindex,follow’ /> and i wish content to be indexed.
    Switching advanced yoast option on homepage doesn’t change this metatag. I only can change it to
    <meta name=’robots’ content=’noindex,nofollow’ />
    but can not set content on index.

    Any idea why?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

    We see in the source code for https://smyklove.pl/ that Yoast is outputting the right data. See image: https://pasteboard.co/GPd39Ff.png

    However, we see there is another tag being outputted with that “noindex” as part of it. See image: https://pasteboard.co/GPd3jp7.png. That tag is not being outputted by Yoast. Some other theme or plugin is outputting it.

    To resolve the issue we ask that you please check for conflicts using this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts
. Then check the source code to see if the extra “noindex” tag is removed. This guide explains more about how to check the source code: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/view-page-source-site/.

    Thank You very much @pcosta88,

    I have checked for conflicts and unfortunately the problem is woocommerce plugin. I tried turning off all my plugins, and noindex appears after I turned on woocommerce plugin. Changing the theme does not help.

    Too bad, can not get rid of that plugin 😉

    Hi,

    The only suggestion we have is to speak to WooCommerce. You can contact them here: https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/.

    thanks again, @pcosta88

    Hi @matteku,
    I have the same problem with WooCommerce. How did you solve it?
    Thanks.

    Hi @sanjitop83,
    Do not really know what was the reason for that, however I copied homepage layout, created new page and replaced the old homeoage.
    It worked.
    I’ve been using divi page builder at this time.

    Hi Everybody,

    I had the same issue, only on my frontpage. There was this code on my frontpage:

    <meta name=’robots’ content=’noindex,follow’ />

    You helped a lot saying that the problem came from WooCommerce plugin. I- as well – cannot switch WooCommerce off, because I need it on my site. What I have done is checking better WooCommerce settings, and I found that my frontpage was set as “My account page” in WooCommerce. I changed it to the “Cart” page, and the code went away from my frontpage. 🙂

    I hope this could help to someone!

    Cheers,

    Eszter

    I have the exact same problem, however, I do not have woocommerce on the website. I’ve tried everything that I could possibly think of and now I’m just searching endlessly on the internet for a solution. Plugins, no plugins, different themes etc. No matter what I have done the noindex, nofollow tag will not go away.

    Any other suggestions out there?
