Meta Slider Full Width

I have downloaded Meta Slider and would like to make a full-width carousel. I’ve been able to make the carousel without a problem, but can’t seem to get it to be full width unless I change the content width for all my pages. I’ve tried CSS like this:

.page-id-6990 .single_left {
margin left: -500
}

Without any luck. I’ve also seen posts about duplicating the page.php file and making a tweak to make a full width template, but my WP template doesn’t have a page.php file….
