• Currently, the slider extends the full width of the front page. I would like it to be a bit narrower. What are the settings that need ro change? Thanks.

  • Hi Engine44

Sure, go to Appearance > Customize > Theme Settings > Home and disable the stretch setting there OR Pages > Home Page and use the stretch setting in the Page Slider meta box.

Unfortunately, I still have a full width Slider.

There is currently a sync issue between the two settings I mentioned above. I have the issue logged: https://github.com/siteorigin/vantage/issues/182 and we’ll attend ASAP.

Head over to Pages > Home and change the setting there if you haven’t already. The video linked in the above GitHub page shows the page setting being changed about 41 seconds.

You seem to be saying that the two setting have to be changed in a certain sequence. Do I start with both on or both off? Then, which do I change first? Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion, the video is for troubleshooting purposes so it shows the entire story. For your case, just try Pages > Home Page, turn the slider stretch off and save, does that help? If not, try turning it off in the Customizer too and then save.

Ok, I started with both on. Then I turned off the Pages/Home Page and saved. No change. Then I went to the Customizer setting. It was already off. Apparently, turning off the Pages/Home Page setting also automatically turned off the Customizer setting, But I still have full width Slider. Frustrating, lol.

Try going to Meta Slider, click Advanced in the right column, check that your slider isn’t set to 100%, full width there.

Yay, that was the answer. Thanks. So, in this case there were 3 separate settings that controlled the same thing.

    Awesome 🙂

    Two:

    a. Vantage method restricts height while doing 100%, yes, has two settings that should sync 🙂

    b. Meta Slider > Advanced, slightly different method, ignores height setting so as to not chop off any of the image.

Glad we made it in the end, thanks for your patience.

Nuts. I spoke too soon. This is strange. I refreshed the page and the full width slider came back. I went back to the Advanced Slider setting. It was still off. I clicked “Preview and Save”. The slider came up and it was not full width. But when I went back to the regular site, it was full width. I think it’s time for bed.

If you post a thread on siteorigin.com/thread and send me the link here, we can chat further tomorrow and setup a login account for us. I can then directly take a look. We can then update this thread afterwards in case someone else needs to know what happened.

    Chat further tomorrow.
