    Hi,

It seems that meteor slides is causing a jquery error on pages that don’t have any slideshows activated.
I have tried it with the default twentythirteen theme and the same thing happens.
This is the site I am working on http://thefathershouse.org.nz/
The homepage is fine because it has a slideshow, but the rest of the pages come up with this error in the chrome inspector:

[cycle] terminating; zero elements found by selector jquery.cycle.all.js?ver=3.6.1:28
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘nodeType’ of undefined jquery.js:3784

Anyone have any ideas about what may be causing this?

    Thanks,
    Jason

I have also found this happening on a clean local install of wordpress 3.6.1
It’s annoying because it means another plugin I am trying to use doesn’t work.

    Hi,

Has anyone else noticed this happening?
I still can’t figure out why this jquery error is coming up.

    Thanks,
    Jason

I’ve tested again with a local install of wordpress 3.8 and meteor slides 1.5.1 and the error is not there, but not sure how to fix it on the live site. Any ideas?

Well, I’m not sure what’s happened but it seems to be fixed.

Good to hear it is working for you now. It is typical for it to give a notice when the scripts are loaded on a page with no slideshow, that won’t cause any problems. But if there is an actual error message like that something more is going on.

If you run into this issue again, make sure all your other plugins are deactivated to rule out plugin conflicts, and then switch to the default theme to see if the error is consistent between your theme and the default theme, that will tell you if it is a theme conflict or not.
