Micro Data Errors
-
Hi Guys, im using your plugin with the Avada theme i purchased and have some issues with the structured data your plugin produces.
When checking my pages in webmasters tools the event pages are missing certain markup which is giving these pages errors in my console.
I need to either completely remove the “Event” markup your plugin creates or complete the missing fields.
I did some research online before coming here as i thought this issue would have been picked up on before but i didnt find anything recent.
Ideally, id like the developers at the events calendar to add the missing fields to the backend of the events pages so they can be filled out and stop giving the event pages errors.
The errors im getting for Events are;
The property Free is not a valid price specification.
The performer field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.
The errors im getting for hcalendar are;
A value for the dtstart field is required.
A value for the location field is required.
The dtend field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.
The url field is recommended. Please provide a value if available
It seems that the plugin also creates a load of archive pages which also have errors. I can probably set these to not be crawled by google but if your plugin is setup to produce structured data it should have all the required fields to fill out. Otherwise google is flagging all the content created with the events calendar plugin to have errors.
Im not an expert in structured data markup. Im not sure how it works in regards to these errors?
Is it better to have your websites content marked up with structured data even if it produces errors and is not complete compared to not marking it up at all?
Thanks Guys any help would be appreciated.
