I try to use Microsoft365 but it’s not working. What I have done already:

    • I made the whole setup exactly how it’s explained on your website: https://fluentsmtp.com/docs/setup-outlook-with-fluentsmtp/
    • yes I copied the right credentials, otherwise I wouldn’t even receive a token. (How I know that? Because I tried all of the credentials. I tried with the user token, I tried the app token…)
    • I activated on MS365 Admin the SMTP Auth, which is disabled normally
    • I gave me the role on the app
    • I checked the API permissions on the App, so all Mail-Permissions like “mail.send” are in the app, even with admin consent
    • and last but not least, yes I am using the admin account / same account which is displayed on fluent-smtp

I receive the token and everything looks fine but when I try to send a test-mail, it gives me the error “422 unauthorized”. Is there any step I am missing? Is there something I need to enable on ms365 admin center or azure?

    Hello @wolfweb95,

Thanks for reaching out and providing such a detailed explanation of the steps you’ve taken to configure FluentSMTP with Microsoft 365.

While you’ve covered many of the common troubleshooting steps, this particular error often requires a more in-depth look at your specific environment and setup.

Given the complexity of Microsoft 365 configurations and the potential for subtle variations across different tenants, it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue without further investigation.

Therefore, the best course of action is to create a support ticket on the WPManageNinja Support Portal. When creating the ticket, please include the following:

    • Your Website URL: This will help us understand your overall WordPress environment.
    • FluentSMTP Settings (Redacted): Please provide screenshots or text copies of your FluentSMTP settings, but redact any sensitive information like passwords, client secrets, or tokens. We need to see how you’ve configured the connection.
    • Any Relevant Error Logs: If you have access to WordPress error logs or any logs from your server, please include any entries related to FluentSMTP or email-sending attempts.

Once you’ve created the ticket with these details, our experts will be able to delve deeper into your specific use case, analyze your setup, and provide tailored guidance to resolve the “422 unauthorized” error. We’ll be happy to assist you further!
