Migrating from Joomla question

I know there are plugins to migrate from Joomla to wordpress, but I was hoping that someone could maybe point me in the direction of the easiest way/easiest plugin, but more importantly, I need to be able to have the WP install be in a separate place from my Joomla install. I’m not sure, maybe it is, but I’m assuming with installation it is going to try to set it up in the same place. I want to take my Joomla install and create that site in word press in a new folder using a new database. Maybe when you import it creates this, but I don’t know and didn’t want to try anything that could screw up my site. I have not installed WP at all yet. Do I create a new install of WP first? I am not sure where to start.
