• Hello:

After paying for our site the company went out of business. I moved all the files to a new host. I cannot get it up and running. I’m using Network Solutions for hosting and they told me wp would run through their service.

Which folder should I point my domain name to? Do I need to change any settings in wp-config? I need help! Haha.

    http://windowtohealing.com
    Pointing to: httpdocs/wp-content/themes/windowtohealing/

    http://www.windowtohealing.com
    Pointing to: httpdocs/

Any response is appreciated. Thank you.

  • Do you have a copy of the old database?

I’m not sure. The company sent me the files from httpdocs because the old host kept giving me error that I probably didn’t have enough permission. I grabbed what I could of the other folders. Would the DB have been located in one of those hosted folders?

No. The database is hosted completely separately from your files. Have you installed WordPress on the new server?

I copied all the old files and moved them to the new server. Looks like all the wp install is there. Should I start with a fresh install?

How do you know that all the wp install is there?

I downloaded the zip of the same version and compared the files.

    Have you installed WordPress yet?

After reviewing the documents and forums I don’t think I installed wp. I created a mysql and input the information into wp-config. I’m getting stuck on the last step running install.php. I’ve tried going to http://www.windowtohealing.com/wp-admin/install.php but I keep getting an Internal Server Error.

Try re-naming your wp-config.php to wp-config.php.old. Then re-run the install and see if WP can create the config file for you.
