You seem to have unreasonable expectations of response times for a volunteer driven forum. I know having your site down feels like a huge emergency, but your urgency does not change how these forums operate. If you really need help that quickly, you should hire someone to help you. You can find help a jobs.wordpress.net.
Per the Forum welcome we ask you NOT bump posts. We use the ‘no replies’ search on these forums regularly to find people who still need help. By bumping, you remove yourself from that list and make it HARDER for us to find you!
It does sound like your site has a permissions issue, but changing the upload folder will not help, the problem is more widespread. Please restore the original upload folder setting.
You need to alter folder permissions through FTP or your hosting panel’s file manager. The normal permissions for WP installations on ‘nix servers are 755 for folders and 644 for files. Specific server setups may have different requirements, so YMMV. Also be sure any host provided security is disabled for the time being until other problems can be resolved. Same goes for any WP security plugins. Setting up security is the last thing to do.
