Hi, I’m looking to migrate from Mailchimp to Omnisend, what’s the best way to go about it? Mainly wondering how to move my contacts over. Something without too much hassle or setupp.

    Thank you!

    Hi there 👋

Thank you for raising this — it’s a great topic, and we’re excited to help make your migration from Mailchimp to Omnisend as smooth as possible.

Unlike many other email platforms, Omnisend offers a built-in integration with Mailchimp, which simplifies the process significantly. You won’t need to worry about CSV files or manually mapping fields — our system handles it for you, including the import of custom data and tags you’ve collected in Mailchimp 🎉

    Here’s a step-by-step guide to get started:
👉 Migrating from Mailchimp to Omnisend

    Specifically, to migrate your contacts:

    1. Generate an API key in your Mailchimp account.
    2. Head to your Omnisend account → Audience → Add contacts.
    3. Choose Mailchimp, paste in the API key, and click Continue.

If you prefer to take it step by step, we’ve got you covered with a dedicated article:

Thanks a lot for the help! Sorry for the late reply, I was busy moving everything over. The migration went well overall, and the integration made things really straightforward.

One small piece of feedback.. since you already recommend warming up after import, it would be super handy to have an option to automatically split the audience into equal-sized chunks (like groups of a few hundred). I’ll go ahead and use your warmup guidance as-is, but for folks who like to do it manually or in stages, that feature could be a nice addition.

You’re very welcome — and no worries at all, we’re just glad to hear the migration went well for you! 😊

Thank you also for taking the time to share your feedback — that’s incredibly helpful. You’re absolutely right: having an option to automatically split imported contacts into smaller, evenly-sized batches could make the warming-up process a lot smoother for users who want more control.

We’ve taken note of your suggestion and will be passing it along to our product team for consideration. While we can’t promise immediate changes, your input definitely helps guide future improvements 🙌

And just a friendly reminder — we’re here for you, so don’t hesitate to reach out anytime you need support or have more ideas. You’ve got a team behind you!
