That is how it was designed. It has a gradient applied to it.

can I change the color according to my wish ?
As the author says there is a gradient applied to it so it is designed to be that way.
However there are possible ways to arrive at what you want by using a child-theme and some css if not through the theme itself.
It looks like the classes mini-sidebar and mini-sidebar-bg will be the ones to change. The class wrap has a 45 pixel left and right margin applied to it and may need to be changed.
