In some cases, depending on how dynamic the file is, it can be added to minify. Please note that the external files are loading on your website from external servers and therefore may be skipped.
When Minify is set to Auto you can use Include external files/libraries: in Performance,>Minify>Advanced (bottom of the page) and also enable Use Regular Expressions for file name matching
Once checked, regexp matching is used for “Include external files/libraries:”. That may be useful in a complex situation when your external scripts have a lot of variations.
Alternatively, you can switch to Manual Minify and use the wizard to add the files you want to be added to minify including https://www.googleoptimize.com/optimize.js for example.
