• I have run into a problem with the miscellaneous settings in the admin section of WordPress. I have tried to update a plugin, but with my miscellaneous settings it says “Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)”. My settings look like this: Store uploads in this folder: wp-content/uploads and Full URL path to files: http://domainnameaddress.com/foldername. Can someone please tell me why I can’t update the plugin?

  • Hi,

Ask you host to assign 766 recursive permissions to wp-contents folder and also disable all the plugins and leave the one which you want to upgrade..and then upgrade it

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

Thanks, Shane G for your reply.

Unfortunately I still am getting the same message. As well as doing what you said, I have changed the ftp password to something different to the database password.
