Missing categories

    I have a problem with categories. They exist. I see the number. But they are not displayed in the Manage > Posts, or in the Categories menu. All posts are set to Uncategorized. In the Categories menu, there are no categories listed. Please help.

    Never mind, they all mysteriously reappeared when I deactivated all my plugins, re-loaded the page, and reactived them again.
