missing feedback file – form wont send

Hi… i have just created a brand new one page site and the contact form simply wont send. I have reinstalled it with no success. I initially went to the template designers for support and they have informed me that it is an error in the plugin and it is missing a feedback file… /wp-json/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/7/feedback was not found on this server.

any idea how i go about fixing this. I read in a forum that i can use an older version of the contact form 7 plugin but i’ve been unable to find any other than version 7.47 and that would not even install for me
