    Hi,
I created a 2-language site, everything is working fine, I have 2 flags displayed which switch languages. When I log out from my site or use a different device where Im no logged in, theres only one flag showing.
I placed the switcher also in the footer but it`s the same problem: only one flag showing. What is the problem? Please help

    Hi socolor,

It may depend on how do you have the widget configured,
can you post here your current values?

Language Switcher Widget on Site One
    Link text (selected value)
    Show flag (checked or unchecked)
Show current site (checked or unchecked)
Show links for translated content only. (checked or unchecked)

Language Switcher Widget on Site Two
    Link text (selected value)
    Show flag (checked or unchecked)
Show current site (checked or unchecked)
Show links for translated content only. (checked or unchecked)

    Thanks,
    Emili

    Hi Emili,
Sorry for late answer. The site is set as follows:
Main site (English language) is http://www.greenstalgia.com
    Secondary (Polish language) is http://www.greenstalgia.com/pl

    The Widget:
Language Switcher Widget on Site One
Link text -language code (4th option)
    Show flag -checked
    Show current site -checked
Show links for translated content only -unchecked

Language Switcher Widget on Site Two
Link text -language code (4th option)
    Show flag -checked
    Show current site -checked
Show links for translated content only -unchecked

The memory is set to 128Mb

There`s also one more problem: I checked “use dynamic permalinks” in settings->MultilingualPress in not standard settings to avoid 404 error. Now I have redirection http://greenstalgia.com/pl/__trashed/?noredirect=pl_PL when I switch a “PL” flag but only on the main page.

I will be grateful for your help.
    Thanks
    Andre

    Hi socolor,

I just checked it now and I see two flags in both sites:
    http://www.greenstalgia.com
    http://www.greenstalgia.com/pl
    http://greenstalgia.com/blog/fracking-colorado/
    http://greenstalgia.com/pl/fracking-colorado-wydobycie-paliwa-w-kolorado/

Being said that, the problem with the flag you had may be because when you connect a post, it has Draft status by default. When you are logged in, you see all posts (Draft and Published) in the frontend but when you are logged out, you only see posts with status Published.

Regarding ‘use dynamic permalinks’ I’m not sure if I follow you, can you explain the problem a bit more?

    Thanks,
    Emili

    Hi Emili,
I don`t know why but there are indeed 2 flags. Maybe I set it myself when checking details of both sites while preaparing an answer to mail you. But I swear I checked before I sent you the answer 🙂
anyway I solved the problem with links as well – there was an option to rebuild permalinks on “Home” edit page.
Seems like everything is fine now. Thank you for your help and quick answers
    Best regards.
    Andre
