    Hi

We had the plugin set up and working perfectly on our staging site but when we moved to the live site half the menu options are missing. There is no menu items for Author, Author boxes, Author category or Author fields (see screen shot for the menu we see)

So we have no list of authors so the plugin doesn’t work at all.

I’ve tried the ‘Create missing PublishPress Authors profiles’ option and Create PublishPress Authors profiles in the maintenance settings which both seemed to do nothing.

I’ve tried using the troubleshooter plugin to turn off all the other plugins and change to 2025 theme (currently using kadence) and that didn’t help either.

Any clues as to why the plugin is suddenly not working on the live site would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @katef ,
    Thank you for using PublishPress.

Pertaining to this missing menus, there are some possibilities. Could you let us know the version of PublishPress Author that you are using? Do you also install another PublishPress Plugin, which is Capabilities? I am installing the latest version of Authors free version and the menus are there.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly… unfortunately we’ve had to remove the plugin and use an alternative. But it was Publisher Press Authors Version 4.7.6. No other Publish press plugins installed, and troubleshooting by turning off all other plugins on the site didn’t resolve it… just in case that helps anyone else having the same issue.

    Hi @katef,

There might be an issue when you were installing the plugin in your site. May I know how you installed it? Did you install it directly in your live site or perhaps migrated it from the staging site?

If you installed it directly in your live site, you can try to remove, download, and reinstall the plugin. Let me know how it goes.

The plugin was transferred over from the staging site… perhaps something went wrong during the transfer?
When we realised it wasn’t working we tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still not luck.

    Hi @katef,

If that is the case, could you try to re-migrate the configuration from your staging site to the live site? Ensure that everything is migrated correctly.

Everything else migrated perfectly except this plugin, and unfortunately we are not able re-migrate the site at this stage so I am going to mark this thread as resolved as I don’t think it’s worth you spending any more time on it than you already have.
I appreciate the time and effort you’ve put in and how responsive you’ve been – it’s a great plugin, did exactly what we wanted, I am guessing there was just some glitch somewhere when we migrated that stopped it worked and stopped it being able to be reinstalled properly.

    Hi @katef ,

Thank you so much for keep using our plugin.

If you have tried to fix with some methods, such as re-migrate or others but the issue persists, feel free to check with us.
