    Hi there πŸ™‚

I have used your plugin on a couple of projects, being very happy with it, but unfortunately something went wrong this time…

After installing your plugin and activating the SSL certificate, images on the front page went missing and also a couple of other places.

I’ve reached out to the author of the theme and they sent me the following:

    Hey Kris!

It looks like your URLs for those images are incorrect – https://ibb.co/ynLMBQMS

There might be some automatic URL rewriting on your server that changes URLs to use HTTPS. Have you checked with your hosting provider about that yet?

    Kind regards

I’ve also reached out to my hosting, and they’re thinking it’s a plugin issue, not their servers/service.

    Could you please help?

    Thanks and keep well,

    Kris

    Hi @kristofferhb,

The URL to an image on your homepage is indeed invalid, which makes it return a 404 Not Found instead of the expected image. The double url(" part is what breaks the URL:

But the question remains why the URL is entered like that. For example, it might just be mistyped in the page builder that you used to create this element/page, but it could also be affected by the Mixed Content Fixer in this plugin.

To rule out this plugin as being related, try deactivating the “Mixed content fixer” under Settings -> Security -> SSL. If this fixes the issue, leave it disabled.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi Jarno πŸ™‚

Thanks for getting back to me and having a look. I’ve tried what you suggested, without any effect…

Any other idea of a solution?

    Hi @kristofferhb,

If this still happens with the Mixed Content Fixer disabled, I’d say that it’s most-likely not related to this plugin.

I’d start by checking whether you can update this URL manually, in the page builder (e.g., WPBakery) that you’ve used to create the element in question. Maybe the URL to the image is already incorrect there.

If the image renders correctly when editing this page in your page builder, but keeps resulting in a 404 on the front-end; there’s likely a plugin conflict.

Usually the best way to find out which one’s causing the issue is by disabling plugins one-by-one, and check the page after each disabled plugin to check if it’s resolved. As soon as it no longer occurs after disabling a specific plugin, the last one you disabled is almost certainly related to the issue.

    Kind regards, Jarno

Thank you for that! I discovered a performance-plugin, which made the conflict πŸ™‚

    Thanks again!

    Hey @kristofferhb,

No problem at all. Glad to hear that you identified the culprit, and I appreciate you sharing the solution here as well!

I’ll mark the thread as resolved, but feel free to reach us if you have any further questions about the plugin.

    Kind regards, Jarno
