    Dear Compliance Team,

I am reaching out to report an issue I’ve noticed with the cookie banner and the generated cookie policy text.

Currently, I have the following features enabled through the cookie plugin:

    • Data collection via Google Analytics for statistical purposes
    • Social media integrations: Instagram and WhatsApp
    • Site Kit by Google integration

However, after reviewing the cookie policy text, I’ve observed the following:

    • WhatsApp is correctly mentioned
    • Instagram is missing from the document
    • Google Analytics is not listed as a statistical tracking tool
    • Site Kit is also missing, even though it appears as an integration in the plugin and is listed in cookiedatabase.org

I would like to understand why this information is not being correctly reflected in the generated document, and if there is a way to resolve this to ensure the cookie policy is accurate and compliant with transparency requirements.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your response.

    Best regards,

    Hello @oninmedia ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I’m sorry to hear about the issue, and we appreciate the detailed overview. In this case, we kindly ask you to run the cookie scan once again and ensure that the cookies are synced in Wizard > Consent > Website Scan / cookiedatabase.org with all services properly configured, making sure they are placing cookies so the scanner can pick them up.

Please note that a service will only appear in the Cookie Policy if it has at least one cookie attached to it. For instance, Instagram may not be showing because no cookies are currently linked to the Instagram integration. The same applies to Site Kit, as it functions mainly as an implementation layer for Google Analytics / GTM and doesn’t place its own cookies.

Let us know if rescanning resolves the issue.

    Best regards,
    Antonio

on some sites the wizard lacks the possibility to enter information on cookie responsibility, how is this possible? I’m always talking about the free version, but aren’t you eliminating some features on this one? It would be incorrect in my opinion

    Hi Antonio,

As you suggested, I’ve run the cookie scan again and also synced with cookiedatabase.org, but the situation remains the same.

Regarding what you mentioned, that may very well be the case — I’m not entirely sure. However, I want to clarify that the Google Analytics cookies (cookie 21) were created intentionally by me so they would appear.

In any case, if you believe that Complianz and the website are functioning in compliance with GDPR, then that’s great!

I just want to confirm: if no cookies are being set before the user accepts the banner or gives consent, does that mean everything is correctly configured and fully compliant?

Thank you very much for your support and guidance.

    Best regards,

    Hello @oninmedia,

Thank you for your kind words.

Yes, if no cookies are being set before the user makes a choice, then everything is correctly configured. This applies in the general case, though as you can imagine, there might be exceptions depending on specific setups.

As for the cookies: if a cookie appears only after being manually assigned to a service in Complianz, then that confirms what I have said initially. I hope this clarifies the doubt.

Feel free to open a new thread if needed, wishing you a nice day!
