I noticed this week that the pagination and meta descriptions are no longer visible on posts, pages, or downloads (I used Easy Digital Downloads). I’ve read the documentation from one and two years ago, but have found no solution.

I’ve also de-activated plugins but that makes no difference.

I have made no changes to the blog. Nor have I added new plugins in the last several weeks. WordPress and all other plugins are up-to-date.

Has the pagination and meta descriptions been moved? If so, where do I find them?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When I click on “Latest Post” on your site, I see pagination at the bottom. So it’s there. Is that what you mean, or something else?

Meta descriptions are controlled by the Yoast SEO plugin. If you’re having problems with this, please contact their support forum: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/

Okay. That’s my mistake on the pagination.

I was referring to all of the options that usually appear below a post or page and where I can set such things as PushEngage titles, meta description, and cornerstone content.

I see the cornerstone option in the right side bar, but none of the rest.

Thank you for the information. I will contact Yoast.

Unfortunately, I don’t know what you’re referring to here. Are you talking about the view in the frontend? If so, I don’t see anything called “cornerstone” when I call up posts. If you mean something in the backend, then it’s possibly a feature provided by a plugin you’re using or your theme. This could have changed due to updates, or a plugin you were using that provided these features is currently disabled. Please check this.

If you have screenshots that show what you mean, feel free to post them here. See: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#adding-screenshots

    Threadi,

    My apologies.

    The front end is good.

What I’m talking about is the collection of options that is usually below the content when I’m writing a post or page. I can’t take screenshots because what I’m asking about isn’t currently showing up.

What you’re describing isn’t built into WordPress. It would have been provided by a plugin, likely an SEO plugin.

I see that your site is currently using Yoast SEO, so I recommend that you reach out to them at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/ if you’re using their free plugin or https://yoast.com/help/support/ if you’re using their premium plugin.

I would recommend checking again to see if all the plugins you need are still active. If they are not, then of course the options that complement them will also be missing.

    Hello @carriellewis,

Is it possible that the Yoast SEO section is just hidden? Just to confirm, this occurs when creating a post, correct?

    1. Open a post and click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the editor.
    2. Scroll to the bottom and select Preferences.
    3. Under General, find Yoast SEO and make sure the toggle is switched to on

As an alternative, you can check if there’s an arrow up icon next to the Yoast SEO section that allows you to move it to the area below the content.

Let me know if that works for you, as technically the plugin should be present if you’ve made no changes.

Yes. This is occurring when I’m writing a post or page.

I have check the Preferences and Yoast is set to “on”.

I see no up arrow under the hamburger menu.

It’s possible the problem is with a recent update to the Yoast plugin. I haven’t yet checked to see when they last updated, but I will be doing that.

AN UPDATE: I just logged into my blog and opened the post I’ve been working on and everything is back where it’s supposed to be. I have no idea why it went away or why it came back, but I’m happy.

Thank you to everyone who helped me sort through things!

    Best wishes!
