Just submitted my site to Google a couple days ago and have been watching as some of the sites links start showing up. There is one page that is giving a 404 error but the header info shows up.

The page is not included in my AIOSEO sitemaps. How do I generate an xml link for that page to add to the current sitemaps.

The link below (Link to the page you need help with) is for a page titled “instructions-for-building-your-snuff-bottle-stopper/”.

Which is odd because the link above showing the 404 error is much longer than what the link for the page is supposed to be, which is “https://snuffbottlestoppers.com/snuff-bottle-cork-measurements/”.

I think AIOSEO created the existing sitemap. At least I do not recall creating them and manually adding them. But if I do need to manually create an xml for that page, can someone tell me how to do that.

Just to add. Yahoo has no trouble with the page.

Hi @taogem, the correct link that’s submitted to search engines for that page is https://snuffbottlestoppers.com/snuff-bottle-cork-measurements/.

The link ending in ?fbclid refers to a Facebook click ID and shouldn’t be indexed by search engines.

The link ending in ” is because you’ve included a double quote at the end of the URL. &#8221 is the character code for a double quote.

    Ok, thank you wpsmort.

Maybe I am just not getting this though.

Here is what I see in Google Console.

When I click on the ones with errors it reads, “Sitemap can be read, but has errors”.

There is only one successful xml.

I am probably just not understanding these sitemap links.

Hi @taogem, The only entry that should be submitted there is sitemap.xml. That’s the URL for your XML sitemap. No other links should be submitted there so you can remove those others.
