Hi,
Press F12 in your browser to open the Developer’s tools. Go to Console. Then try to open the Shortcode Composer from the yellow button on the top-left corner of the plugin. Are there any messages or errors appearing on the console?
Nickolas
Have you added the shortcode [wordpress_file_upload] to any of your pages?
Yes, that is how the upload widget is showing on our page, it has the pencil icon in the corner on hover – says loading visual editor when clicked – then nothing happens.

I have the same and more issues with version 2.7.4 – see my posting posting below.
I have just tried the F12 trick as per the above (I use chrome) and can’t see a yellow button anywhere. My ‘console’ tab window is totally empty. I assume you mean to do this when the admin settings page is open in chrome.
my instances of [wordpress_file_upload] shortcode have lots of parameters as generated by the shortcode composer in the previous version (which work – as per my post)
Hi,
please update to the latest version 2.7.6. It addresses the issues with the shortcode composer.
Nickolas
Hi,
I installed the pro version of File Uploader and edited the basic shortcode to suit my needs. I got this far:
[wordpress_file_upload captcha="true" captchatype="RecaptchaV2 (no account)" uploadpatterns="*.m4a,*.mp3,*.ogg,*.wav,*.wma" maxsize="500" placements="title/filename/selectbutton/uploadbutton/subfolders/captcha/userdata/filelist/progressbar/message" uploadtitle="" captchaprompt="Kirjoita merkkisarja alla olevaan kenttään." successmessage="File %filename% uploaded successfully!" warningmessage="File %filename% uploaded successfully but with warnings." errormessage="File %filename% not uploaded." waitmessage="File %filename% is being uploaded." notify="true" notifyrecipients="[email protected]" notifymessage="Dear Recipient,%n%%n%This is an automatic delivery message to notify you that a new file has been uploaded." widths="filename:275px, selectbutton:60px, uploadbutton:60px"]
My intention was to continue with CSS customization but at this point I cannot edit the shortcode at all. I tried to access it via Dashboard (logged out two times and back again) and via the browser editor (the yellow button on the top-left corner of the plugin) but clicking edit just opens up the WordPress File Upload Control Panel main view.
Please go to the main settings page of the plugin in Dashboard and send me a screenshot of what you see (version, php version etc…)
Send it to my email info at iptanus.com
I have 3.0 with the same problem – no shortcode editor visible anywhere. Just a list of the shortcodes available would be fine. I can write them as needed.

Hi Nora
have a look in “v2.7.4 problems” posting that I created.
Nick describes where the composer has gone too in his replies to my upgrade problems.
I consider as closed. Thanks r.young for the help.
