If you meant meta keywords, then this feature was removed in the latest version of Yoast SEO. You can read more about it here — https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-6-3/
If you are having issues with the Yoast SEO meta box and the focus keyword not appearing, could you please check on the following options:
- There is an option to turn on/off the readability and keyword analysis. Can you please check whether they are enabled for you? You can find this on the left menu under SEO > Dashboard > Features?
- Can you please confirm that the SEO and Readability are enabled on the posts? You can check this by going to your WordPress dashboard, and then going to SEO > Titles and Metas > Post Type and seeing that the Yoast SEO Meta box says “show”?
- Additionally, please check that your admin hasn’t disabled the SEO and Readability analysis for your user/s. Please go to your WordPress dashboard, and then navigate to Users > All Users > Edit > Yoast SEO Settings and seeing that the Disable SEO & Readability analysis isn’t ticked?
- Check if Yoast SEO is ticked in Screen Options

That is very sad that you removed this feature as it is used for SEO in some ways. We use the keywords in our content for listings on page and insert the keywords via php, much like someone would use a tag on a post. It is very useful and helps us add keywords into content. You have to consider that many SEO companies will use the fact that a site does not have keywords to gain clients and discredit the seo that you do. And yes some major SEO still use keywords as a selling point!!! I have researched and found https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2009/09/google-does-not-use-keywords-meta-tag.html
Though many years they say they dont use them, we still see a use for them for as tags in out content. We really hope you bring this feature back!
Also, Yoast Seo team add it as an option for those who want to use it.

As already answered in this post, we won’t be adding the meta keywords back. Yahoo and Bing also don’t use them, so it’s much better to focus on great content and do some keyword research instead of using the meta keywords.
If you really want to bring back the meta keywords, since the meta keywords were left in the database(for now), reverting to the previous version (6.2) will bring them back.
