    Hi Support Team,

i have a problem with my woocommerce paypal plugin – i think.

    The following error shows up:

MISSING_SHIPPING_ADDRESS The shipping address is required when 'shipping_preference=SET_PROVIDED_ADDRESS'.

    I use the followig plugins:
    – WooCommerce PayPal Payments Version 1.9.4
    – DHL Shipping Germany for WooCommerce Version 3.2.0
    – Rental Products Version 4.0.0
    – WooCommerce Version 7.0.0
    – WooCommerce Shipping & Tax Version 1.26.3
    – WooCommerce-Zahlungen Version 4.8.1
    – some more that i think would not cause the error.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a user account with E-Mail, Username and password
    2. Put something in the shopping card
    3. Go to checkout and fill in the address and all information.
    4. use paypal to do the checkout
    –> The error showes up

If i use bank transfer for payment i do not get the error.
So i think is has to do something with the paypal checkout plugin.

    Thx 4 help

    Hello @menzeler

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.
I have just answered to a similar thread here.

We have seen this issue before, and this can have some different causes.
The most common cause is when a theme or page builder is using a checkout Module that use the short code “woocommerce_checkout” instead of how the standard WC module works. I would expect that you are encountering a similar situation. Our plugin uses the default WooCommerce short codes, and we cannot adjust this for plugins that don’t use the default. This would be my first advice to look into.

Another cause can be the WooCommerce general setting for “default customer location”, but this is most likely not the cause, but worth a shot if the first option does not show any results.

Please see if the same situation applies for you. I have also linked this thread to the bug that is open for this case.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Thank you for your reply,

i am using the following modules on my checkout page:

    1. Woo Notice with PAge Type = Checkout PAge
    2. Woo Checkout billing
    3. Woo Checkout Shipping
    4. Woo Checkout details
    5. Woo checkout payment

last year i used a text module with [woocommerce_checkout] but i deleted it from my page.

I also checked the “default customer location” setting and found that (translated) “same location as store location” was selected. I changed it to “no preconfigured location” (or something similar translated) and tested again.

Nothing of this helps and i still get the error.

    Hello @menzeler

Have you done conflict testing on your site (disable all plugins and replace the theme) to check for any issues caused by 3rd parties?

If so, I would advise opening a thread on our service desk, so we can check logs and your system report for other possible causes.

On the other thread, we are doing the same, but I am still waiting for more details from this merchant.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi @joostvandevijver

i deactivated all plugins. Following plugins where the only ones activated on my website:

    – WooCommerce 7.0.0
    – WooCommerce Email Test 1.2.2
    – WooCommerce PayPal Payments 1.9.4
    – WooCommerce Shipping & Tax 1.26.3
    – WooCommerce-Zahlungen 4.8.1

Unfortunately I could not deactivate my theme because I use the divi builder and my checkout does not work without the theme (I use woocommerce modules).

The error still exists so my plugins does not cause it – I think. Maybe woocommerce plugins are causing it.

    One Hint:
The error only shows up when someone creates a user account first and after that fill out the shipping adress in the checkout process. If someone puts stuff inside the shopping cart as a guest and creats his account on the checkout page, everything works just fine and without the error.

    Best regards
    Eric Menzel

    Hello @menzeler

We have seen this issue occur because of the Divi theme, so we are confident this issue is caused by a conflict with your theme.
We would recommend you to create a new checkout page with the regular WooCommerce short code. If this does work, this would prove this issue is caused by the theme or not.

When this doesn’t proof the issue to be with the Divi theme, you might need to share more details on your site with us for taking a closer look. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

currently I am using a text block with the following content on my divi woocommerce checkout page:

    [woocommerce_cart]

Unfortunately the error is still showing up.

If i create a new user and do tthe steps to reproduce mentioned 2 weeks ago i get the error.
If i go to my account settings and add a billing address manually and do the checkpout afterwards everyrthing works just fine.

Do you have a idea how i could fix that?
seems like something does not work with the divi short code page. MAybe the user data is not saved correctly tht way? idk

    Hello @sebastienlivolsi and @menzeler

I have no experience with the Divi theme, but have encountered people that reported back to us that the cause of this issue was the shortcode that was used. So far I did not get more details on this solution, but when I do I will share it here. We are also trying to investigate this issue ourselves, but are pending details from some merchants in order to take a closer look. We don’t have anything we can share so far on our investigation.

However, I would suggest to reach out to the Divi theme builder and ask them for a solution, since they must have encountered this issue more than we have. Next to that: we are using the WooCommerce coding standards, so the solution must be found at Divi.

Hopefully the Divi theme builder will be able to help you out further.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

Since we haven’t heard back from you, I’m going to mark it as resolved.
In case you’re still having problems, feel free to let us know!

We have the same error: we confirm that the problem should be in Divi’s “your order” module on the checkout page.

For us, if you select “courier” as the shipping method and immediately after PAyPAL as the payment method it doesn’t work, you need to select “pick up on site” for a moment and then “courier” again for it to work.

We have tested with the normal Woocomemrce shortcode and it works.
