Just tried to add a simple product (one time) and a subscription product (monthly) into the same shopping cart and received this message: “Products and subscriptions cannot be mixed in your shopping cart.” How do I enable this functionality? Thanks!

I’m noticing that in the ChangeLog, for 2.1.7, it says that functionality was added for a “mixed cart”. I don’t see a setting to turn this on. Please help. I need clients to be able to buy subscriptions and one time simple products within the same cart/transaction. Thanks. If I can get this fixed and my users into Braintree’s vault, I’m ready to buy the plugin.

    Hi @wallyj2k,

Are you using WooCommerce Subscriptions? That change log entry pertained to WC Subscriptions. If you are using the plugin’s delivered basic subscription functionality, mixed carts are not allowed due to how WC order’s are mapped to Braintree Subscriptions. We are working on changing that but it will be several weeks before that version is released.

    Kind Regards,
    Clayton

I currently only have “Braintree for Woocommerce” installed. It gives an error when I try to use a mixed cart. If I want to use a mixed cart, does it require that I purchase “Woocommerce Subscriptions”? Because the change log I referred to is for this plugin – “Braintree for Woocommerce”.
    Thanks.

I was hoping that all I needed was the “Braintree for WooCommerce” plugin, but I just need to know before I go buying anything else. Thanks.

    Hi @wallyj2k,

If you want to have the ability to mix the cart right this moment then you would need WC Subscriptions in addition to our plugin. However, if you are willing to wait a few more weeks then that functionality will be added for the plugin’s delivered subscription functionality.

    Kind Regards,

Ok Thanks, so does this plugin make the user create an account when checking out, and does this user account get transferred into the Braintree vault?

Btw, I just bought the pro version of the plugin.

    Hi @wallyj2k,

Yes, an account is required within WordPress in order for a subscription to be created. We impose this restriction in order to keep data consistent for purposes of scalability. It would quickly become a mess if payment methods were being vaulted and subscriptions created using those vaulted payment methods but there was no user in WordPress to tie it all together.

For a faster response, please email [email protected] as we check that email frequently.

    Kind Regards,
    Clayton

    Hi (@wallyj2km

You will be pleased to know that the soon to be released version 2.5.3 will support the ability to mix product and subscriptions when using the plugin’s delivered subscription functionality.

    Kind Regards,
