Thanks for the update @martechassistance . This is most likely due to a plugin conflict. In order to pinpoint the plugin causing this issue, can you please disable all the plugins and re-enable them one by one? If the issue returns after enabling a plugin, that plugin is the one causing the conflict.
@martechassistance can you please go to Appearance>Customizer>Header>Mobile menu and select “Link” under Mobile Menu Drop down target?

I use facebook like box. wherever I insert the widget (left sidebar, default sidebar, footer) in theme mode – customize works. when I exit this mode and go to the site where the widget should be, a white spot appears

That could be some code or plugin conflict.
Try to switch to the parent theme and check if it is working or facing the same issue.
go to Elementor > System Info and share the report with us so that we can take a look.
The shared page URL is not working so unable to find causes for the issue.
