Hi @pixandhue,
We’ve tested the mobile menu and can confirm that it is expanding as expected. When using a screen reader like VoiceOver on a mobile device, the menu icon typically requires a double-tap to activate—this is the standard behavior for screen readers on touch devices.
To help clarify, we’ve created a short screen recording showing the menu working with VoiceOver enabled: https://d.pr/v/qFsuj2
That said, we’re always working to improve accessibility, and your input is very helpful. If you’re still facing issues, please feel free to share a screen recording from your end so we can better understand and look into it further.
Thanks again!
Kind Regards,
Ankush 🙂
Hi there – Thank you for your thorough response, I appreciate it!
I am including a loom video here -> https://www.loom.com/share/812d8d3f31f34217a6f820370e9ab6cf
The header is built using this plugin, here is the link to the website -> https://kenna.pixandhue-demos.com/
A visually-impaired person is using VoiceOver on her iPhone and unable to open the navigation menu with the screen reader enabled. In contrast, she is able to open the mobile menu for website headers built with Elementor Pro following the same steps. Thanks for your help!
Hi @pixandhue, thank you so much for sharing the video and for providing detailed feedback—it really helps us understand the issue better.
We had another look at the mobile menu using VoiceOver on an iPhone. Based on our testing, the menu does work when VoiceOver is enabled, but it requires a slightly different interaction. On iPhones, VoiceOver users need to double-tap an element to activate it, rather than a single tap. This is standard behavior for screen readers on touch devices.
So when the menu icon is selected, the user needs to double-tap to open the menu. That said, we understand that real-world experiences can vary, and we’re always looking for ways to improve. We truly appreciate you taking the time to report this and share a recording. We’ll review this further with our development team to see if any enhancements can be made to improve usability for all users.
If you have any page URL where you have added Elementor Pro Menu where we can test that page for Accessibility.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards,
Ankush 🙂
Hi again – Thank you for your detailed and helpful response, I appreciate it!
Here’s an example of a website header built with Elementor Pro -> https://delphine.pixandhue-demos.com/
Hi @pixandhue,
Thank you again for your continued feedback and for sharing the example using Elementor Pro.
We went ahead and tested the mobile menu on the new site you shared: https://delphine.pixandhue-demos.com/, which uses the Elementor Pro menu. Based on our testing with VoiceOver on an iPhone, the menu also requires a double-tap to open—similar to the behavior on the site built using our plugin. Here’s a short screen recording showing the menu working as expected with VoiceOver enabled: https://d.pr/v/urTAj6
That said, we absolutely understand that accessibility is about real-world usability, and experiences can differ from person to person. We’re continuing to review this with our development team to see if there are any improvements we can make to ensure a smoother experience for all users.
If there’s anything else you’d like us to check, or if you have any other feedback, we’re always happy to help!
Kind Regards,
Ankush 🙂
