I had a closely related issue logged where the user was not seeing references but they have not yet provided enough detail.
It is possible that something has changed on PayPal’s side.
Or is it possible for some reason, your customer decided to pay via Paypal Mobile App rather than the webform?
Link below – I updated the plug-in and it seems to be working again. Normally there would be a section which included the handling charge and a invoice number the customer typed in:

re: mobile – I’m told there were a batch of problem transactions like this all from different people so I doubt it.
I asked for more examples though to be sure!
Hmmm, there is nothing in recent changes that I can possibly think would impact that.
I’m wondering if there is some interaction with paypal forms and the mobile app if the form is completed on a mobile? To be frank not something I have tested or even though of testing.
As best as I can reconstruct it – everything worked fine for years, then about 5 transactions all were missing data – then I updated the plugin – and it worked for two tests by me and 1 real customer.
Could there have been a paypal hiccup?

btw I tried it on an iphone / chrome and it looked completely normal
OK I tested on mobile.
With the app active.
It does say ‘mobile payment’ but the dedatil e.g. reference is there
although your screen shot looks like a different report to the one I see in paypal – where do you get your report from?

The email I get looks totally different.
Yes that is the same as my transaction report, whether it says mobile payment or not.
i think we’ll see if things continue to work overnight – I will advise.
