mod_rewrite and css

strange problem with 28/05 build:
pemalink structure: /archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
the archived entries are found no problem but displayed without using the css file even though the link in the source is correct – at least i think it’s correct – it’s the same as the one for index.php
