Modified post permalink not updating

    I installed Shareaholic and a short while later changed the format of my post permalinks (future and historic). The permalinks for posts that already existed were updated through this process.

    The problem now is that the related content for those posts are still trying to follow the original permalinks resulting in 404s or empty pages.

    I have since updated Shareaholic to vsn 7.4.0.4.
    I have gone to Edit General Settings and Refreshed to Re-index my Site but that didn’t work.

    Do you have any suggestions about how I can fix this? cheers

    Hi @lwhip – I just performed a reindex of your site from my end. If this isn’t fixed in 24 hours, let me know, and we’ll look into it again!

    Thx @devinemily_shareaholic.

    I’ve checked after 24 hours and the issue is still there. I checked while logged in as admin and logged out.

    I’m completely new to this stuff and this is probably a dumb qn (forgive me!):

    If I understand it correctly the re-index should have worked fine in this situation, but since it hasn’t is there a workaround if I delete the old slugs?

    Okay, thanks so much for your patience! Can you post a couple of urls that are still giving you the 404? I just tried a few from Jan/Feb and they worked, so would help to see specific cases. Thank you!

    Whoops – of course!

    If you spot these in the recommendations they’ll take you to the white page of purgatory:
    – Deadlines. Dead. Lines.
    – Eczema vs dermatitis

    You can go to the pages directly with no probs.

    The 404s I can’t find this morn – I saw them in my analytics list when other people tried to access the same posts via the recommendations list.

    @lwhip Great, thank you, that helps. We’re going to take a look into this. I’ll follow-up when I have more info!
