Modified posts do not show up in feed

I have discovered that when I modify a post, it does not re-appear in the feed. For example: Bloglines only shows the post when it is created, and not when updated. The feed url does not appear to contain any mdified dates, the atom feed uses the created date as modified date.
Is this a feature of WP, a know issue or bug, or do I have to configure something?
BTW, I use WP 1.5.2
