• I am looking for a gallery plugin that will allow us to run online photo contests with WordPress. I have found a nice little up-loader in entrywizard that is designed for photo contests. What I need now is a gallery plugin that will allow the comment fields to be edited so we can customize them. We would like the ability to have multiple fields for member judges or whoever has access to the image if needed, to be able to post numeric scores for different things and a comment field for each one. Multiple people need to be able to judge each image. The choice in admin to display or hide the data from previous comments. For example during judging we may want to hide the comments and then afterwards display them. We would need to then be able to download the results to a spreadsheet to tabulate the results including file name, up-loader, comment poster, comments and scores, user who made comments. Moderating comments would be good as well.

I don’t know how much of this can be done with your plugin but I think this would be a popular tool and I would be happy to work with you on testing and implementing such changes if desired.

A brief overview of what is possible with wppa+:

    1. If you configure so, users can upload photos at the front-end of the website.
    2. Users ( configurable either logged in or any ) can give ratings ( one per photo, optionally modifyable or multiple per single photo. You can select a single button, a 1-5 or a 1-10 rating system.
    3. You can either hide or show the average ratings so far.
    4. Users ( configurable either logged in or any ) can give comments on photos.
    5. Comments can be hold for moderation ( configurable ). Until approval only the commenter and user roles that have the wppa moderate capability see the comments.
    6. You can configure that giving a rating requires giving a comment also, to force voters to motivate their rating.
    7. You can select one out of 3 possible top-rating criteria: ordered by mean rating value, ordered by the number of max-value ratings, or by the number of times a photo has been viewed.
    8. There is no limit for the number of ratings or comments on a photo.

As i see it now, i think you will need the following additional features:

    1. The possibility to restrict giving ratings and/or comments to certain user roles
    2. The possibility to restrict viewing ratings and/or comments to certain user roles
    3. An evaluation overview for the entire contest.

If you want me to implement these features, I would like to discuss this further offline. Please mail me at: opajaap at opajaap dot nl
