Modify post “Your latest posts” homepage

    I haven’t figured out why the “latest posts” homepage is rendered the way it is. No post has its excerpt displayed and with one post, its image shows a yellow frame. What is the explanation for this behavior?

    Customizing ▸ Theme Options ▸ Excerpt Options is set to 20 words (i.e. the default). Except for the latest post, none have a manual excerpt but it seems to make no difference anyway.
