Hi @anphira
Glad you reached out to us about this!
There’s this part of our post:
After saving a Block Default, you will find two new links in the section to Modify Attributes and Reset Defaults. If you choose to Modify Attributes, you can delete the default settings individually. If you choose to Reset Defaults, all the default settings are removed.
These two links will appear right after you save block defaults for a specific block. The Modify Attributes link will show a pop-up of the block attributes where you can delete them one by one.
The Reset Defaults link will delete all of them so all succeeding block instances will use our default settings.
Here’s a screencast to demonstrate how these two options works: https://share.zight.com/7Kurwoqo
I hope this clarifies, and let me know if you have additional questions.
Ok, so what you’re saying is once something is added there is absolutely no way to change it in the future globally except by writing my own CSS. So basically don’t use any of the style properties for anything I want to apply globally, only write my own CSS so that it can be changed in the future when the client changes their mind — because that is an absolute guarantee. I’ll mark this resolved.
Hi @anphira
That’s one way, but it will all depend on the use case.
I believe our upcoming feature might be more helpful for you. You can view this YouTube video that talks about it a bit: 31:11 Global Styles and Full Site Editing, or view the transcript here.
It should come soon, but we don’t have an estimated date yet.
