Modifying Image Type?

My woocommerce site has several thousand product images that I need to change from the Bitmap filetype to JPEG. I’ve uploaded the JPEG images with the same name to the same folder.

Should running find and replace for .bmp to .jpg and image/bmp to image/jpeg do the trick?
