We sincerely apologize for the trouble, I will do my best to get to the bottom of this asap.
The lite plugin is a different plugin from the Pro and works well without any of the pro features. Those features are just extra features some users might consider necessary for their project.
If the lite worked before and it no longer does on your end, this most likely means there is an incompatibility with something new on the site or a new update.
The easiest way to see where this is coming from is to use a troubleshooting plugin.

After you install and activate the above plugin it has a Troubleshooting mode which allows you to have a vanilla WordPress session, where all plugins are disabled, and a default theme is used, but only for your user – your visitors will still see the normal website.
Go to its troubleshoot mode and activate only Modula and see if the same issue happens with no other plugins and a default theme.
This will help us narrow the issue down.

Thanks @mplusb for your help! Actually after trying with the health check plugin, I still can’t see the images in my gallery and see only the buttons “Get modula Pro” and “See Free vs Premium Differences”. I will try to reinstall the plugin then.

You should also see there the ‘Gallery’ meta box.
Can you please edit your gallery > Screen Options (right top corner) > and make sure you have checked ‘Gallery’ in there? You can also uncheck ‘Albums Upsell’ to no longer see that message to upgrade to Pro.
Does the gallery meta box display after you check ‘Gallery’?
If it still does not work, would you mind sending me a screenshot with your full-screen (when you edit a gallery) so I can take a better look and see what it looks like on your end?
