I get the same issue – the default image in the admin panel is not being loaded for category pages and it is also wrongly being set as “blogposting” rather than a “blog” containing multiple “blogpostings”.

Not sure what would be the best course of action for the developers of this plugin.Perhaps a stop gap solution would be to use WebPage and a default image on a category page as is the case with a normal blog page.
