Have been trying to test things other than “Google AI”, as its results often produce weird phrasing, especially when compared with other (free) proxied offers.

The most obvious choice was to setup the “free” LLM like gemini-2.5. At glance it works quite well, but the tiny allowance (RPD=20) makes it practically unusable for any dynamic translations purposes.

Google offers other quite more generous albeit simpler models in aistudio (Gemma-3.x) but they do not seem directly supported in GPTranslate. Also, Microsoft offers its own classic translation solution (Azure Translator) that perhaps would be worth comparing against Google AI.
Hope you’d consider adding those, or perhaps a more generic UI/conf file to configure them and others.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for the suggestions.
We will definitely run some tests to evaluate whether integrating solutions like Gemma and Azure Translator can provide real added value to GPTranslate.

Regarding translations, excessive fragmentation caused by internal HTML tags can negatively affect semantics and overall translation quality, especially when using AI-based models. This is an aspect that requires particular attention: internal tags within a single phrase should be avoided as much as possible (for example, styling a single word with <strong> inside a sentence).

Starting from the next release, a new option will be introduced to remove internal tags during translation in order to better preserve the semantic integrity of each phrase.

    Thank you
