• Whenever I try to use the quicktag – !--more-- it doesnt work.
For example, I’ll type in blahblahblahblah !--more-- view my post, and then it shows blahblahblahblah (more…) but upon clicking on it just brings me to another page that has that blahblahblahblah (more…) it doesnt actually show the text I have after that tag.
Now, adding the !--nextpage-- tag works … But I cant seem to get more to work. Any help?.. Thank you very much for your time.

  • Could you make a post that uses the <–more–>tag ?

If you can make one on your blog, we can test it and look at the code 🙂

    Thank you very much!

Hmm.. tricky.. I’m stumped right now !

Heh .. Thats not good! but at least I know that its not just me being an idiot! hehe

I would assume it is the way you have your permalinks set up – apparently without a post title.

When I first went through this problem, I tried to add a title to see if that was the problem. It still didnt work. Permalinks just confuse the heck out of me (I am 9 months pregnant, really, my concentration level is gone). So if you give me a suggestion I am more than willing to try it!

Hey! that worked adding the %post_id% in my permalinks.. Thank you for the idea!

Yep, I am not that daft yet =) Thank you so much.

I am trying to stay away from making titles… are you sure that each post made on the same day does not make a unique id?

Just wanted to circumvent the next round of posts (which often happens with a “Doh!”, but I guess with this post it didn’t work 😉

    😉

Develsaa — I am having a blast at your site, especially your stupid convos link. Yeesh! The ones I love(which your “Lisa” thread reminded me of) are those who yap on about their “First Amendment Rights” and always on someone else’s web space!

    Thanks =) I think .. haha

Develsaa, pardon me if this is too obvious to state, but:
    — The home page shows current posts chronologically (most current to least current), and moves them off as new posts appear at the top according to the number you specify in Options(?). But the home page is not the “permanent” home of all posts; it’s meant more as a “here’s the new stuff” page.
    — At the time you publish a post, it is displayed both on the home page (as a “current” post) and on its own permanent page, which is created at the time the post is published. This is where the permalink link takes you.
Now, if you change the URL structure and mess with the mod_rewrite, it can get a little exciting, but that’s the basic structure of the blog.
