    WPEC has been around longer than any other ecommerce plugin and has had the time to truly mature into a solid platform.

    In its early stages, WPEC had a lot of problems, which are the main reason for the number of poor ratings, but in the last year, WPEC has improved so much it’s awesome.

    I use WPEC primarily on a large network of sites with well over 1 million visits per month and it performs beautifully.

    It is by far my favorite of the large ecommerce plugins.

    I’m having a problem with WPEC – when I test the purchase process, it stops me at the paypal page with an error about encrypted buttons. I read your comment to another user about the SSL certificate. I got hostgator to install the SSL on my site, and it still has the same error message. Is there something else I need to be doing? How do I encrypt the WPEC “buy now” button?

    They must have a very good commission structure, since every positive review in this whole thread is by someone who works for/with them. Even the “support” staff tried to sell me some other crap plugin. Oh, but I believe everything you say, yes I do.

    I am in no way affiliated with WPEC, except in that I am a developer who occasionally contributes patches to the plugin. I am not paid in anyway to say good things.
