FYI you can hide the menu item using the following code in your functions.php, or wherever you keep custom functions:
function remove_cookie_notice(){
remove_menu_page( 'cookie-notice' );
}
add_action( 'admin_init', 'remove_cookie_notice' );
I know how to hide menus, move them around or customize them, but it’s frustrating.
Why do we have to do this in the first place? Why encourage bad practices?
Why can’t developers respect their users?
Regardless, I stopped using this plugin.
I rarely give negative reviews, but I’ll start doing it for all plugins that do shady things in the admin dashboard. This includes but it’s not limited to:
- plugins that treat the admin dashboard as their own personal billboard
- plugins that place their menus at the top level just to add upsell pages (sometimes more than one – I know plugins that add up to 4 upsell pages)
- plugins that hijack the admin dashboard (and I include here this plugin as well – see update 2.0.0)
- plugins that use all the available rainbow colors to make their marketing stand out
- plugins that add all their premium features as disabled controls in the free plugins
- etc
I’m sick and tired of these bad practices. This is not marketing. This is intrusive marketing.
