• i didn’t backup using phpmyadmin or anything, i just copied the folder from the website then reuploaded it on the new one, and edited the database info in the config.php.

    now it makes me reinstall, and i lose all my users and posts.

    aren’t they in the files./ how can i fix this/ please help.

  • Sounds like you have a ton of problems. First, did you move to a different domain or just within your site to a new folder? Like from /blog/wordpress/ to /blog? Then all you needed to do, I think, is to change the location within the Administration site information.

    I just did this recently and made myself sick worrying about it, and it was really simple. Just move it and change the information within the Admin. Hopefully your changes in the config and reinstall didn’t make things work, but it really is a simple fix.

    The information is still in the database. Just make sure you have all the correct information in the Adminsitration Options window, and it should be fine. And if you are using Permalinks, make sure you change those to reflect the new location.

    Well damn, I didn’t switch domains, but I moved servers, and my database is deleted.

    I guess I’m just starting over.
