Anyone have a methd or know how to embed Moviefone trailers into a post?

Everything is stripped away and quite frankly, I do not trust embedding videos from Youtube into any post or page…

    Thanks

  • Go to Moviefone, select your video, select the embed button, copy the provided code and simply paste it into your post using the html editor and save. Do not switch between html mode and the visual editor in an attempt to preview the video while doing so.

There is nothing unusual or inherently unsafe about embedding YouTube videos. WordPress supports YouTube videos in its native “embed” options. Embeds

    embed button?

There is no “embed” button on the html editor

There is no “embed” button on the html editor

I never indicated that you should be looking for one in the html editor.

“Go to Moviefone, select your video, select the embed button, copy the provided code and simply paste it into your post using the html editor and save.”

    ….taken in the context in which it was intended, this would mean;

    1) go to Moviefone

    2) select your video trailer located at Moviefone and play it

    3) click on the embed button located in the video at Moviefone – (Moviefone calls it the “get code” button)

    4) copy the code Moviefone gives you

    5) take the code back to your WordPress site and paste it in the html editor.

Unfortunately Moviefone is an unregistered oEmbed source and it will still get stripped… Unfiltered MU works… simply paste the code in the post/page…

I was hoping someone knew codex well enough to post the code to “register” it….

    Thanks…

Are you using MultiSite? That’s the only reason you’d need Unfiltered MU.

if you’re not, edit the post in HTML mode and paste it in.

    uh-huh…

I suppose answering the question regarding the Codex for unregistered oEmbed is too much to ask for since, Moviefone is an unregistered provider e.g. not on the “list” (please check your own web site for accurate information regarding your reply) hence, one must add or “register” moviefone e.g. see wordpress docs @ http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Embeds whereas, you will be given a list of providers which are built hence, my statement or request in building the codex for MOVIEFONE NOT Youtube, Flickr, etc…

To sum it up, unless Moviefone is added, it will simply be stripped away from the post… Don’t believe me, give it a try for yourself (of course I am not running the “theme” provided with 3.1.2 however, had it “worked” in the first place, would I be in here asking for help? I think not…

::wishing there was an ignore/block feature::

    rsgrone – Is that a ‘Yes, I’m using MultiSite’ uh-huh ? πŸ™‚

    I was asking for a reason y’know πŸ˜‰

If you want to ADD an oEmbed, you can.

Adding Support For A Non-oEmbed Site
You’ll need to register a handler using wp_embed_register_handler() and provide a callback function that generates the HTML.

    http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Function_Reference/wp_embed_register_handler

    So go add MovieFone!

To anyone interested… brightcove has the complete api docs and a basic plugin to embed videos usng there players… I can not publish moviefone trailers within a post…

Anyone interested shoot me an email.. I am still working on the code to pull in thumbnails etc…

I still need to figure out how to register the plugin so that it can be called in using the “Custom fields” which would be the preferred method as far as I am concerned…
