I originally created my wordpress site in a folder called “blog”… now I want to move the site to the root folder so I can avoid the http://www.mydomain.com/blog address… what should I know before I do this? I just started working with wordpress yesterday… definitely a newbie.
    Thanks for your help!!!

Im not sure, but could you just copy the folder and paste into the root?

Then go into the dashboard and change you blog addres to point to the root of the site.

    Hope this helps.

There’s a whole page dedicated to explaining how to do this here.

In a nutshell (if you’re an experienced coder or programmer) it’s a case of moving files then updating 3 entries in the db (iirc)..
