Moving my wordpress to subfolder

Guys,

Currently i have installed my wordpress in root directory because of this my wordpress got hacked and now i want to move this installation to subdirectory and still it should point to main domain name http://www.example.com.

I installed new wordpress installation and copied wp-content folder from my root installation to subfolder installation.

For testing i am trying to access http://www.example.com/subdirectory to test the installation before point to main domain i am getting Error 404 – Not Found under post area and some how it is pointing to main domain.

Can some one help me with their wordpress installation expertise.
