Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
How are you moving rows now? Are you already using the keyboard shortcuts from our previous discussion? With those, this should actually be pretty fast 🙂
As for the column width: TablePress 2.1 has a nice feature here! In the “Screen Options” in the upper right corner of the “Edit” screen of a table, you can now configure the default width and height of the table editor interface. This is saved and all tables will have that column width on the editing interface then. This should also save you from having to manually resize the columns on the “Edit” screen.
Best wishes,
Tobias
Hi and thanks for the quick reply. I still haven’t figured out how to use the keyboard shortcuts. Clicking ctrl + arrow doesnt work so I am using drag and drop which is a major pain.
I also saw the new width feature and tried it the same day after upgrade but it didn’t work for me. Tried saving several times but didnt work.
Are all these features working in Firefox?
Hi,
the keyboard shortcut for moving actually is Ctrl+Shift+arrow 🙂 You can see those in the right-click context menu as well, for reference. (There are also those for moving to the top/bottom/left/right edge.)
As for the width: That’s strange. Is the column width updating when you type in a different value there? And it’s just not saving (i.e. when you then reload the page, the width is back to what it was)?
And yes, all these things are working fine for me in Firefox as well. Can you maybe try again on a test site via https://tablepress.org/demo/#try to see if it works there?
Regards,
Tobias
Ahhhh, Ctrl+Shift+arrow worked! Fantastic. Very convenient. Maybe you can add a more explicit description/guide directly in the tablepress area?
As for the width, I just tried again and it seems to work now haha. I have no clue.
Thank you Tobias. You’re such a legend. This plugin is absolutely essential to me and so many others.
Hi,
great! Good to hear that this is helpful! Yes, I’ll be making these keyboard shortcuts more visible 🙂
And thanks for trying the width change again!
Best wishes,
Tobias
