Assuming that WordPress is installed in the subdirectory called “wordpress” and it lies inside root directory of the the domain “bioeagles.com”.
In this case, all WordPress files should be inside WordPress directory. All files inside the directory should have 644 permission and all directories including the wordpress directory should have 755 permission.
If you are unsure about the files and folders require by WordPress, you can download and extract WordPress package from https://ww.wp.xz.cn/download/
and upload the missing files or folders. Do not replace “wp-content” directory and wp-config.php if you want to keep your current contents and database configuration.

thanks for replying and sharing your expertise- The assumption is perfect. The wordpress subdomain is inside the root directory of bioeagles.com. Yes all files seem to be in order regarding the WP files-with a combination of 644 and 755 permissions.
not a computer expert -so not sure which files would be missing from WP as I just moved the whole folder so assumed everything moved together
Just concerned whether it could be one of the several plugins I have that could cause the error message and inability to access site.
My last resort is to just restore back up of full directory but means losing all the work done from Nov 26…ahrgh….
Is this the best option…. for someone like me.

Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/ on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
This is the error message I still keep getting ….

PHP wp-config file has perm code 600 – should I change this to 644
htpasswords folder has a perm cod of 750- should this be changed to 755

Thanks so much Interserver ……and thanks WP for facilitating this forum.
