I am having an issue where my mp3 files are not being posted.

The email is processed and a post created, but the newest version no longer puts a link in the post. I enabled the debug and found that Postie is processing the attachment but instead of uploading the mp3 filename as it comes in, it is changing it to /wp-content/uploads/2013/01/postie-media511.mpeg and /wp-content/uploads/2013/01/postie-media512.mpeg, where the number continues to increment per post. It does not link to this file either. Where should I be looking?

The attachments seem to post correctly when I manually run using the “Run Postie” link. So this seems to just be an issue when calling /wp-content/plugins/postie/get_mail.php via cron.

Looks like there was a bug extracting the filename. There are a couple of places it can be specified and I missed one. Not sure if this is the same issue you see. Please try 1.4.30.

Initial tests look good. I have had a few automated emails come in with no issues after installing 1.4.30

    Thank you!

Good to know it is working.

I am experiencing same issues, using 1.4.34. When MP3 is received it still does exactly what OP described. Thanks for the awesome plugin!

In most cases this is not a huge issue, but some people running windows and IE don’t have default software for mpeg playback, so I’m getting feedback that files can’t be played form my site. They work fine in Chrome.

I’m not sure I understand what is happening. The original issue didn’t show the file in the post at all.

Can you send an example email to [email protected]?

Also what is the URL of the existing posts that have trouble?
