You know, I took over the plugin from Jason earlier last year, and I never noticed that FAQ item. From what I remember in my multisite testing, it should work just fine though, as there’s a separate function and page for the multisite settings. It does need a bit of an overhaul from the backend, but that’s nothing critical, and it should function just fine on multisite.
thanks for your reply.
So, there is setting page for network activation ?
I note there are so much downloading and live usage of these plugin, it would be great if you can update that FQA.
Further more, I would like to have your professional explanation on image optimization, since it is always overcomed by other optimization plugins, but more plugins means more potential conflicts, it would be great if you would like comparing the difference between Imsanity and EWWW Image Optimizer or Wp smash.
Thanks, and have a nice day.
Alex
Sorry, I got sidetracked by the multisite question and forgot you asked about the other plugins.
Imsanity is not really an image optimization plugin. It performs no compression, except for what is normally applied during the resizing process.
EWWW IO contains the same resizing capability of Imsanity, plus it does full compression on top of that. Last I checked, Smush doesn’t do resizing, but that could have changed.
As for compression, the free versions of EWWW IO and Smush are about the same, but Smush lags way behind EWWW in the paid compression, see https://ewww.io/2016/06/23/the-best-image-optimizer-for-wordpress/
I can’t go into the paid features too much, as that isn’t permitted on the forums, if you want more information and detail about what the paid services of EWWW IO can do, please shoot me a message at https://ewww.io/contact-us/
